Boomerang-Shape Island

(Cycling Adventure @ Pulau Ubin 060609!)

Idzwan and I decided to go off island to Pulau Ubin!
We always had this idea but just did not have the right time to stop by. And so our adventure begins! Haha

Took the boat ride @ Changi Jetty. Think it was my first time over there. It was another side of Changi in which I dont think I have seen. Seen lots of boats and family fishing. There was this family who caught a freaking long eel!

Boat ride was good. My second time. The first time was when I went to OBS. I miss that sadistic camp with killer obstacles. Adrenaline pumping baby!

We reach about 10-15mins later. Rented bikes -$18 for both bikes and for the whole day. I thought it was worth it! I know I wanted to get to Chek Jawa. So we cycled. Uphill was a chore! Downhill? We ride so fast and then scream! Hahaha.

We stop once in awhile to get hydrated and boost up energy .. by eating nuggets! I packed nuggets and Idzwan's bag was with Pringles, Choc roll and some rice crackers. Yes, we were prepared. No one is dying of hunger yet.

After about 30mins of cycling, we nearly reach the place! Terrain was rough with muds, holes and small stones. Not to mention we were feeding the mosquitoes! But I actually did not get bitten as bad as I was expected.


We climbed this Jelawi Tower. Idzwan think its about 8 stories high. My legs were freaking jelly all the way and my palms were wet.


We reach the top! View was amazing :) Totally worth the effort for climbing up.


Reached! Chek Jawa was disappointing. We were promise with sea plants and creatures but all we seen were lots of water and just a boardwalk. Still, we had fun!

Hot hot hot day but it was windy as well.


We continued cycling. Think I lost some weight. We were sweating buckets can? Haha


Stop by @ this mini shop. Get 100 plus. That drink never tasted so good. We found Cookie monster who happen to reside @ Pulau Ubin!

Cycle back to main area and rested awhile. Too tired to carry on. Return the bikes and went back to main island.
